We recharged the A.C. in the doom box of doom* (*patent pending), but still no cold air. We’re charged, we have pressure, we have power, we have no leaks, compressor is coming on... But nothing. Only ran it for a few minutes, but still. We’re thinking the compressor itself bad/clogged.
It was a total shot in the dark that this would be a One Simple Trick scenario. I didnt spend any money and it was about 15 minutes of my life, so no biggie.
Welp. Back to what I do best: look up cars I won’t buy.

Did you get the right refrigerant?

Just deal with no AC, I am shocked that it has it. The windows roll down, right? :)

A/C works by witchcraft, I recommend a circle of black candles around the car and lots of chanting

Fill trunk with ice
Install fan to blow cold air forward
Wear bathing suit
Enjoy

The trunk is the doggo space. If you fill it with ice, you will have a cold doggo.

You’re in the PNW. A/C is for the WEAK!

I feel your pain. I have to recharge the S10s A/C about once a year. And the compressor sounds like a small airplane trying to take off. I know it’s living on borrowed time.

Busted A/C was no problem on my winter/camping/doggo beater Land Cruiser for the winter portion of that, but it made summer camping road trips pretty unappetizing...one of the main reasons I sold it. I took short ones around the state OK but I couldn’t plausibly take it on my annual sojourn to California, at least not with dogs.
